Jellyfish Watch

Estimate jellyfish risk at a coastal spot from water temperature, waves, and season.

How to use

  1. Type a coastal city or beach.
  2. See a Low / Medium / High jellyfish-risk estimate.
  3. Review the factors — warm calm water and season raise the odds.

Frequently asked questions

How is the risk calculated?

It combines sea-surface temperature, wave calmness, recent storms, and season — conditions that jellyfish tend to favor — into a weighted score using live marine data.

Why does it say "unknown" for my location?

Marine data only exists for coastal and open-water points. If you enter an inland city there is no sea-surface data, so the estimate cannot be made. Try a beach or coastal town.
