By using Absurd Tools you agree to what follows. It is written plainly because terms nobody reads protect nobody. If you disagree with any of it, the remedy is simply not to use the site.

What the site is

Absurd Tools provides 1001 free utilities — calculators, converters, formatters, generators and games — that run in your web browser. No account is required and nothing is sold to you. The tools are provided as they are, for general use.

Accuracy, and its limits

Considerable effort goes into correctness. The calculators are covered by automated tests, results are checked against independent methods where that is possible, and reported errors are fixed. Even so, no result on this site should be treated as authoritative. Software has bugs, formulas have edge cases, and conventions differ between fields and countries in ways a single page cannot always capture.

This matters most where a wrong number is expensive. Do not rely on anything here as professional advice — medical, legal, financial, tax, structural, or safety-related. A body fat estimate is not a diagnosis, a mortgage calculation is not a loan offer, and a dosage or dilution figure is not a substitute for a qualified opinion. Where a decision carries real consequences, check the result against a source that carries professional responsibility for it.

Your data stays with you

The tools run entirely in your browser. Text you paste, numbers you enter, and files you open are processed on your own device and are not uploaded. The exception is the global high-score boards on the games, where a name you type and a score you choose to submit are sent to the server deliberately and displayed publicly — do not enter anything there you would not want published. The privacy policy covers this in full.

Acceptable use

You may use the tools freely, including for commercial work. You may not:

• Attempt to disrupt the site, overload it, or interfere with anyone else's use of it.
• Scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for others, or republish it wholesale as your own.
• Submit scoreboard entries containing abuse, impersonation, advertising, or anything you have no right to publish. Entries may be removed at any time and without notice.
• Use the tools to do something that is itself unlawful where you are.

Ownership

The design, text, and code of this site belong to its operator. Whatever you produce with the tools — your converted file, your generated password, your calculated figure — is yours entirely, and no claim is made over it. Short quotations of the site's explanatory text are fine with a link back.

Availability

No uptime is promised. Tools may be changed, renamed, or removed without notice, and the site may be unavailable at times. If a tool you rely on matters to your work, keep a record of the results you need rather than assuming the page will still be there.

Liability

The site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, its operator is not liable for any loss arising from your use of it — including decisions made on the strength of a result it produced. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those parts do not apply to you and the rest still stands.

Third-party content

The site may display advertising supplied by third parties, and may link to other sites. Neither the advertisements nor the linked pages are under this site's control, and their inclusion is not an endorsement. Advertising is governed by the advertiser's own terms and privacy practices.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the site changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised version.
