Two things this does that most do not
- Blanks can repeat. A named blank is asked once and filled everywhere, so a story can refer back to the same character or object. Without that you get a list of unrelated words rather than a story.
- “A” and “an” are corrected after the fact. A blank straight after a is guaranteed to produce “a elephant” sooner or later, and that wrecks the sentence the reader was about to laugh at. It handles the awkward ones too: an hour, a unicorn, a university, an umbrella. It is a rule of thumb about spelling rather than a pronunciation dictionary, so it will occasionally be wrong about a very unusual word.

How do I write my own?
Type your story in the builder and mark blanks with square brackets — [adjective], [plural noun], [something you would never say to a police officer]. The label is what the player is asked for, so make it specific. Your draft is saved in your own browser.
Can I see the story before I have filled everything in?
Yes. Any blank you have not answered shows as its own label, so you can read the shape of the story at any point and go back to finish it.
Is this suitable for children?
The built-in stories are clean, and the rest is whatever the players type — which is rather the point. Nothing is uploaded and there is no shared content of any kind.
Can I share a story I wrote?
Copy the template with the button and send it however you like. There is no account and nothing is stored on a server, so copying is the sharing mechanism.
